ATAA Announces Graduate Student Scholarship in Turkish Studies
October 22, 2025 | The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), with the generous support of Drs. Bilgin Family, is proud to announce the launch of the ATAA Graduate Student Scholarship in collaboration with the American Association of Teachers of Turkic Languages (AATT).
This new scholarship program underscores ATAA’s long-standing commitment to promoting Turkish Studies and supporting emerging scholars who contribute to the understanding of Turkish language, history, and culture in North America.
Each year, two graduate students presenting at the AATT Annual Graduate Student Conference will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements and innovative research in the field of Turkish Studies.
The first awardees will be announced during the AATT Graduate Student Conference (2026) and recognized at the ATAA Annual Conference. In addition to receiving the monetary award, recipients will be featured on the ATAA website and in both AATT and ATAA newsletters.
This initiative represents a meaningful step toward strengthening academic collaboration and encouraging new generations of scholars to advance Turkish Studies in the United States and Canada.
