Tip: add a note in the memo line (for example, “General fund” or “Youth programs”) if you’d like your gift directed to a specific effort. Please include your email or return address if you’d like a receipt for tax purposes.

Gifts of Securities / Stock

Donating appreciated securities — stocks or mutual-fund shares held for more than one year — is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. A gift of long-term appreciated stock generally entitles you to a charitable deduction for its full current market value, in most cases without paying the capital-gains tax you would owe if you sold the shares yourself.

To arrange a transfer of securities, please contact us at assembly@ataa.org and we will provide our brokerage transfer instructions. Let us know the stock name and number of shares so we can watch for your gift and acknowledge it for your records.

Donor-advised funds (DAF)

If you give through a donor-advised fund (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, a community foundation and the like), you can recommend a grant to ATAA using our legal name and Tax ID:

Planned giving & bequests

A gift in your will or living trust is a lasting way to support the Turkish American community for generations to come. You can leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other gifts. Suggested language:

Corporate matching gifts

Multiply the impact of your gift by leveraging your company’s matching-gift program. Thousands of employers — many of which also match gifts from retirees and spouses — will double, triple, or even quadruple a donation to a 501(c)(3) organization like ATAA, at no additional cost to you.
