Membership in the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) strengthens the collective voice of Turkish Americans across the United States. Through membership, communities gain representation at the national level, support programs that highlight Turkish heritage and contributions to American society, and help sustain a unified, credible organization that works to protect community interests.

All memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of payment and are non-transferable and non-refundable. If your membership is not approved, we will refund your payment.
Individual Membership
Assembly Members shall be individuals who concur with the goals and aspirations of ATAA. They shall apply, and must be admitted for membership.

Family Membership
Family membership provides individual membership to two adults within the family. Two family adult members participate and can vote at ATAA elections, and children under 18 are able to participate in the ATAA Youth and UN programs.
Note: children are not allowed to vote in ATAA elections.

Acceptance for membership
Acceptance to Assembly Membership (individual or family) shall be upon approval by the Board of Directors. Upon payment and approval of the membership fee, the membership card will be emailed to the member.

Component Membership
Application to become an ATAA component association must be made in writing to the ATAA Board of Directors. The Board will determine the eligibility of the applicant; once the application and required documents are reviewed, the President of the Assembly reports the Board’s recommendation at the next annual Assembly Meeting of Delegates, and component status is granted upon an affirmative simple majority vote of the delegates present.
How to apply
- Letter of Intent — submit a formalLetter of Intentto the ATAA Board at assembly@ataa.org,president@ataa.org andsecretary@ataa.org, explicitly stating the organization’s desire to seek membership and its commitment to the association’s mission.
- Submission requirements — theMembership Application Formmust be accompanied by the following supporting documentation:
- Governance: a complete roster of the Board of Directors, including full names, mailing addresses, email and primary telephone numbers.
- Membership data: a certified list of current members including their respective names, addresses, emails and telephone numbers.
- Constitutional documents: copies of the organization’s Articles of Incorporation, current Bylaws, and EIN number.
- Operational records: the current annual budget and a comprehensive schedule of organizational activities.
- Administrative fee: annual Component Membership fee of $300 (payment can be processed electronically below).

Eligibility requirements for component associations
- Consistency of Purpose — the purposes, objectives, and activities of the applicant association shall be consistent with those of ATAA, as evidenced by the applicant’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
- Application and Acceptance — the applicant association shall submit a formal application for membership and shall be admitted only upon approval in accordance with the procedures set forth above.
- Non-Interference with ATAA and its Existing Component Associations — neither the applicant association nor, upon acceptance, the Component Association shall engage in activities that conflict with, interfere with, or are otherwise inconsistent with the purposes, activities, or interests of ATAA and any existing ATAA Component Association.
- Minimum Period of Operation — the applicant association shall have been duly incorporated and in continuous, active operation for a minimum period of three (3) months prior to the submission of its membership application.
- Continuing Obligations of Component Associations — upon acceptance into membership, each Component Association shall comply with the following ongoing requirements on an annual basis, and shall promptly submit updated information whenever changes occur.
Ongoing obligations — failure to meet these may result in cancellation of membership
- Payment of membership dues in the amount and manner established by the ATAA Board of Directors;
- Submission of the names, addresses, email, and telephone numbers of all members of its Board of Directors;
- Submission of a current membership roster, including member names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers;
- After membership is approved, be prepared to designate the delegates that will represent the association at ATAA Assembly of Delegates meetings;
- Support the Regional ATAA VP where the Component Association is located with projects.
