The festival opens at a historic moment. UNESCO has recently established December 15 as World Turkic Language Family Day, recognizing the shared linguistic and cultural heritage of more than 200 million Turkic-speaking people across Eurasia. Our festival, held just days before this observance, will serve as a cultural prelude to that global recognition — bringing the vitality of Turkic storytelling to the heart of New York’s international community.
The Inaugural Program
Our featured presentation will be a film tied directly to UNESCO-recognized heritage of the Turkic world — a cinematic exploration of the living culture, landscapes, and traditions that span from Anatolia to Central Asia.
Sponsorship funds will allow us to bring the filmmakers themselves to New York for live Q &A sessions with our audience. These conversations — between the creators of the work and an audience of UN representatives, diplomats, and cultural leaders — represent a rare and powerful form of cultural dialogue. Your support makes this possible.
